The ever so popular show The Boondocks featured on Adult Swim will finally return to television screens in early 2010. The Boondocks has been missing from the Adult Swim TV lineup since March 2008 to the dismay of many die hard fans.
We can thank controversial cartoonist, Aaron McGruder, for being the original creator of this political and racially-charged animated series. In December McGruder let the public know his popular series would return in the
new year through a Twitter update: “Hey folks… Boondocks coming back May 2nd! (We swear!),” ... “Please follow @boondocksBTLG for the latest info and updates.”
Fun fact: The Boondocks came into some controversy in its second season after two episodes heavily criticized BET executives Debra Lee and Reginald Hudlin. Ironically, Hudlin is the co-creator of The Boondocks. Later that same year, Hudlin left BET. Aaron McGruder also gained some notoriety for feuding with BET founder, Bob Johnson, over the programming of the network.
