TV: Rapper/Actor Common will star in Hell On Wheels

Rapper/actor/poet Common will be starring in the new western TV show, Hell On Wheels, which is set to premiere November 6, 2011 on AMC.

Synopsis:  Hell on Wheels tells the epic story of post-Civil War America, focusing on a Confederate soldier (Mount) who sets out to exact revenge on the Union soldiers who have killed his wife. His journey takes him west to Hell on Wheels, a dangerous, raucous, lawless melting pot of a town that travels with and services the construction of the first transcontinental railroad, an engineering feat unprecedented for its time. The series documents the railroad's engineering and construction as well as institutionalized greed and corruption, the immigrant experience, and the plight of newly emancipated African-Americans during Reconstruction. Hell on Wheels chronicles this potent turning point in our nation's history and how uncivilized the business of civilization can be.

Beats Rhymes & Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest

Beats Rhymes & Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest

Having forged a 20-year run as one of the most innovative and influential hip hop bands of all time, the Queens NY collective known as 'A Tribe Called Quest' have kept a generation hungry for more of their groundbreaking music since their much publicized breakup in 1998. Michael Rapaport documents the inner workings and behind the scenes drama that follows the band to this day. He explores what's next for, what many claim, are the pioneers of alternative rap.

Just Me
I love this rap group and miss them dearly.  The Tribe is one of the most unique groups out there who used to lace my ears with positive, melodic, hip hop anthems such as Bonita Applebum, I Left My Wallet in El Segundo, Electric Relaxation, and my all time favorite Check the Rhime.  Since the movie is directed by actor Michael Rappaport, who I swear is actually Black and a true hip hop head, I know who will stay true to the real story behind these mega artists.
