Sneak Peek: Queen Latifah and Common in new romantic comedy
Love and Basketball Part II?....maybe
Queen Latifah is putting her producer hat back on as well as starring in a new romantic comedy alongside the rapper-turned-actor Common. Just Wright is directed by Sanaa Hamri and was written by Michael Elliot. Queen Latifah is Leslie Wright, a sport trainer who gets the opportunity to work alongside NBA All-Star Scott McKnight played by Common.
Their working relationship is going along smoothly until Wright realizes that she actually has feelings for the handsome athlete. But these feelings are interrupted by an attraction McKnight has to Wright's beautiful childhood friend Morgan (played by Paula Patton). And Morgan seems more than willing to be on the arm of the NBA star. So what is Ms. Wright to do?
As you can see the cast has an All-Star lineup. Some others making an appearance in the film are Phylicia Rashad, John Legend, and Pam Grier. The storyline does sound similar to other movies we've seen before. But that is no surprise since Michael Elliot is responsible for the hugely popular movie Brown Sugar Sanaa Hamri directed Something New.
