Black Dynamite is opening up today in selected theatres: NY, L.A., Chicago, Seattle, Philadelphia
Synopsis: When “The Man” murders his brother, pumps heroin into local orphanages,
and floods the ghetto with adulterated malt liquor, Black Dynamite is
the one hero willing to fight all the way from the blood-soaked city
streets to the hallowed halls of the Honky House.
It stars actor and black belt holding "You don't want to f-- with me" martial artist Michael Jai White (Spawn, The Dark Knight, Why Did I Get Married?, and my favorite --- HBO film Tyson). There are also many actors making appearances in this movie such as Tommy Davidson, Arsenio 'where the heck have you been?' Hall, Kim Whitley, and Bokeem Woodbine.
I'm actually excited about this movie but I love Blaxploitation films. I remember being young and seeing Coffy for the first time starring Pam Grier. I thought to myself "Wow, this woman is black, beautiful, and BAD!!!". I loved the rawness of the characters in the films. They rocked fly clothes and afros. The stars of these films fought against drug pushing, pimping and prostituting, and abuse in their neighborhoods when no one else would. And they looked good doing it!!! Now some people might have issues with these movies. I don't know, maybe they think there was too much cursing, slang talk, and sex. But for me, all I saw on the screen were Black Superheroes. I mean, it's not like I could find them in comic books or other movies.
Get your afro wigs, numchucks, leather trench coats, and big heel boots and check out this flick.
