News: Debbie Allen will direct and choreograph TWIST

IT'S THE STORY OF OLIVER WITH A NEW TWIST!!!

The LEGENDARY Debbie Allen will be choreographing and directing the new musical Twist, a revitalized adaptation of Charles Dicken's Oliver Twist.  The new spin on this treasured tale is that the story will take place in New Orleans during the roaring 1920's during the Prohibition years and follows an orphan of mixed race as he searches for a home.  In the city's Jewel Box speakeasy he finds parental comfort along with friendship with the other kids trying to survive on the street.

The musical is based on the novel Twist written by Tony Award-winning William F. Brown who also is the man behind the 1980's urban classic The Wiz.  Developing the musical score for Twist will be Grammy Award-winning Tena Clark and Gary Prim.
